I start today

Post  x-Kell-x on Sun Jan 20, 2013 7:21 pm

I start my voluntary work on maternity ward today! I can't wait Smile and I'm a little nervous as well lol, it's only a 20 week placement but its better than nothing, I'm planning on doing a peer support training course for breastfeeding as well which could be good!
Wish me luck Smile

I'm back Smile

It was great! Doesn't offer much in terms of knowing what a midwife does because your helping the health care assistants more, basically I'm there to help with food, make sure the mums and dads are ok, making beds. I got talking to one of the midwives which was great! We had a lady there with twins who needed a little help so I helped her as we husband was sleeping lol.
It was surprisingly quiet actually, I'm old that's unusual lol! Looking forward to next week already Smile
