Books for sixth formers
I want some books to recommend to my IB students. I'm thinking novel. travel stories, etc. I have loads for Zimbabwe but not so many for the other areas we cover. They're the 16-18 year olds so we can recommend just about anything. Does anyone know any good novels, etc for the following periods - India 1900 to today, Zimbabwe for a similar time period, Poland for a similar time period, USA, Canada, Cuba, Argentina and Brazil from about the 1920s onwards and the cold war. I do have some books (and certainly some of the obvious American ones like grapes of wrath and the great gatsby)

International Baccalaureate. Its an alternative qualification to A level. Its much broader as they have to study their own language, another language, maths, science, a humanities and one other subject although you don't get the depth you do at A Level. Our school offers both

Thanks Kate. I'll add it to my list. I have just remembered I made a list for Year 9 for India so will have to dig that out and see what books I put on it
