Please can you let me know if you're intending to join and read this book and also when you have finished, just so I can keep up with who's in and can move dates around if everyone is finished early.
PLEASE please no discussion before the date posted at the top. When you've finished just post 'finished'. Even the small little comments can sway someone's opinion before they've even started.
When discussion dates come around I'll post in here and start the discussion off, so please keep an eye on the dates so you don't miss discussion.
Usually we will have 3 weeks to read the book (bit different this month as it started on fb). Then 1 week to discuss. The new book will start the same week as discussion to keep things moving along quickly.
A post will be up for next book suggestions, close to the reading time ending on the current book I will put up a poll of the books that have been suggested. If I don't get many suggestions I will search Amazon's top 100 books to find a few suggestions.
Enjoy and please let me know if I've missed any information

Re: Book Club Info - The Love of My Life
DISCUSSION TIME!
Well this book was definitely better than the last! I read it in a few hours one evening. It's completely got me and just wanted to keep reading. I initially found it a bit annoying having it switch time frames, even though i've read a few books like this, i'm just impatient and wanted all the information at once. However I got used to it and it did work for this story. Also it was fairly clear which time it was in, it's far more annoying when it switches and you don't notice and get really confused.
As for story, i found it a bit hard to read at times, the way Luca's family treated her and knowing she was self destructing - before she got with Luca in the past bits as well as after he had died. Natalia's character was a difficult one to judge cause she was vicious and although i never think anyone deserves to be cheated on it's hard to have sympathy for a nasty character. However by the end her behaviour is slightly justified, Liv did steal her fiance on the night before their wedding but still, so vicious. At the same time though I always had sympathy for Liv, and found it heartbreaking that she was sleeping with Marc to basically feel and be close to Luca. It's such a bad thing to do but could kind of get the feelings behind it and just felt sad for both of them. Although Marc was cheating I felt quite a bit of sympathy for him too, I guessed quite early on he'd always been a little in love with Liv and really just think he was messed up for his brother's death and the fact he'd always wanted her and not really ever been in love with his wife.
The end really got me and kind of ripped my heart out. I thought that was really really awful what the Felicone's did. Even after the whole story was out I still didn't think they had to be that heartless, they didn't like her but they should have acknowledged Luca's love for her. I felt myself wanting Liv to scream she'd been sleeping with Marc, even though it would have done no good really.
So all in all i did enjoy it although it really made me emotional and made me want to scream at Liv for making silly decisions past and present! Probably score it 9/10, purely for the fact it really got to me, it takes a lot for a book to do that to me now with the amount i read.

Re: Book Club Info - The Love of My Life
For some reason I can't get my thoughts in order at the moment. I did really enjoy this book. It was a lot better than the last one. I felt sorry for all the characters (except Natalia - even when you found out what happened) which is unusual for me because the fact they were cheating would have put me off normally. I did like the way you found out things slowly. I hated the way that Luca's family treated her. She was a fairly messed up character but that seemed normal, especially with everything that happened to her

Re: Book Club Info - The Love of My Life
I really enjoyed this book, It was well written and I read it in a very short time as I wanted to know what had happened!
I felt really sorry for Liv all the way through, even though it was clearly wrong that she was sleeping with Marc way it was written made me sympathise with her and understand the reasons for doing it.
Obviously I did not like Natalie but I did think that she was quite a sad character, ie no family, described as frumpy and plain and then practically jilted at the altar. Even when she married marc it sounds like she always knew that he was in love with Liv.
I disliked Lucas's character immensely to be honest. Liv obviously loved him but the descriptions of him left me cold really as he sounded like a chain smoking, swearing, selfish person to me! I disliked his treatment of Natalie as he was very cowardly in allowing the wedding date to be set etc and also the way he allowed his family to treat Liv.
I was shocked by the actions of Luca's family throughout but the behaviour at the end with the cemetery and headstone was truly awful. I liked the character of the professor.
Anyway overall mark of 9/10 for me as although it was a bit depressing it was a good read and i enjoyed it

I agree about Luca, although it was obvious Liv loved him and i was sad he died, i don't feel there was enough to make him a really likeable character. He was a bit of a coward who let his mum dictate his life then ran away and basically let his family blame Liv. The family obviously hated Liv but from the past descriptions it sounds like he dismissed it a bit.

Re: Book Club Info - The Love of My Life
Yeah I didn't really warm to Luca. I much preferred Marc and felt sorry for him because he obviously loved Liv and married Natalie because he felt he should. Luca can't have been that great seeing as we were only seeing him through Liv's eyes and she loved him and yet we still don't. He should have stood up to his family and said something. He also shouldn't have let the wedding get as far as he did. Running away rather than just stopping it was cowardly. I did love the professor she worked for though
