Re: :-(
It just doesn't bare thinking about. Apparently two women have said they saw him clambering up a river bank after throwing something in a big liner in there, and they knew it was him as they know him.
I just hope they at least find her body so her parents can lay her to rest. (Obviously I hope she's alive but I don't believe that she is)

Re: :-(
I didn't really think there was any chance of them finding her alive after this time. If she is dead then I hope that they find the body or he confesses. I can't imagine how people like the McCanns live when you just don't know

That's the worst thing I think (well you know what I mean) the not knowing must be worse as you simply can't move on.

I hope to god ths little girl is still alive, but I don't think she is!
if the man has killed her, hes a sick twisted b*stard!
also why would anyone allow a child of that age play unsupervised in the front street????

Re: :-(
I think the area she was taken from is a very quiet estate where every one knows each other so they thought safe. He was known to the family so could have happened any time

Even so, I dont agree with it!
Where I live in the village everyone in my street is related to one another (incest) and they let there kids run wild!
Imogen my daughter is 4.5yrs old and I wouldn't dream of allowing her to run wild in the streets, the only place she is allowed to play is in our back garden and even then I'm constantly out supervising her! and we had a padlock on the back gate too!
There's time when I have about 3 kids from Imogen's school knocking on the door asking if Imogen can play out and I'm like errr no she's too young and their quick to say well she's the same age as us and I'm like yeah but anything could happen

Re: :-(
Some communities do, everyone knows each other etc. it's part of the culture
It's not my thing either
I think her mom will be wishing she hadn't for the rest of her life :-(

Re: :-(
So sorry.. I've been watching international Sky News all week hoping for some good news. I'm still waiting to hear the full update since I've just got back from shopping.
Re: :-(
No I don't understand why you'd let a kid that young out. All the kids in our road (and some are tiny) seemed to be allowed out and we live in the middle of a busy town. I just don't understand that mindset. Her parents didn't deserve this though and I bet they'll feel guilty about it for the rest of her life

Re: :-(
She vanished at 7.30 pm which again why is a child so young out at that time my 11 year old is to be in by 6.30pm and my 15 yr old by 8.30pm . It's a crying shame but still if he was a family friend he could of done it at any given time . I just hope to god they find her or her body soon.
Re: :-(
I don't think she's alive and that is so sad i too hope they find her body.
I would love to know what developments have made it change to a murder inquiry, and why they think its him. Not that i doubt them but id just be interested to hear about it.
As for playing outside, I don't know if its different or not but charlie regularly plays outside our house with his eldest brother. However we live in a very small cul-de-sac area and there is a big field to the side of my house. No one could come up to where they play without being seen, but i would never let him out that late, and if one of the adults isn't out there with them i'm usually cleaning the kitchen and watching or have the front door open so i can keep an eye on them.

It depends what part of the uk you are in, the further north you go the later it gets dark. It gets dark here (near London) at about 7:15 but for my mum in Scotland it's nearer 8pm

About 6:10pm here and it's dark.. I wouldn't let my child be playing out that late either way.
Re: :-(
This is such a sad thing to have happened.
I wouldn't let my kids out alone at that age

I hope so too, so at least her family can at least know for sure and lay her to rest. It's made me want to put tracking devices on the boys and keep them on some kind of lead.

This is so sad I hope they have the right guy and that he can give them some peace by admitting his crimes.
