Surrogacy on Corrie.

Tina has asked for 30k to be a surrogate. My oh thinks that's way too much. What do you think??

When your desperate couples will pay anything for a baby. I'd say 30,000 cover wages for a yr I was of. So when you think about it, no not too much

Isn't that illegal though? I thought you were only supposed to ask for expenses. Mind you I admire anyone that could actually do it. I hated pregnancy and there's no way I could put myself through that for someone else

Yes tams you can only ask for expenses but I think £30k is about right

Wow that's a lot of expenses. I always think you must have to be desperate to turn to a surrogate because the baby is legally theirs until they sign it over isn't it? Must be such a tough decision to make

I thought about whether i could do it and i just don't think i could, I might think about it if my sister needed me to. I guess 30K must be the 'going rate' for want of a better phrase.

I couldn't do it, knowing YOUR baby is growing is enough to kind of accept he aches and aims of g. But to do it and labour and hand baby over, no couldn't.

My sister says she could do it but she loved being pregnant both times. So did my Mum. I can't understand that because I hated it

Did anyone watch This Morning, this morning? There were a couple on there who paid £28,000 to an Indian (I think) lady to be a suragate...I think some people saw it as 'Baby farming' over there...but they explained that by the time they'd done all the IVF/Transfer etc and costs/expenses..i'm sure they said the suragate made about £6/8,000.

I always said I would do it for a dear friend...but saying and doing are two different things. I think if it was there egg and spermies, I would literally be the oven, and it'd be hard not to bond...oooo, I don't know

I loved being pg but felt like tyler was missing out on me s first trimester I was so sick I couldn't do anything and the end I was so big I couldn't do anything and so if it came down to it I wouldn't want tio put the boys through me being pg for "no reason"

That's the other thing isn't it Jade. It must be tough on your kids. I bet most people don't want a surrogate that hasn't had them though in case they bond too much and want to keep them

There's a lady in my town who has been a surrogate something like 10times, might even be more than that now!

That's impressive. I admire anyone who does it because its such a selfless thing to do
