Contraception
I'm nearly 6weeks post-partum and I have my appointment coming up in the next two weeks.
My health visitor suggested I go on birth control.
Being Catholic we don't believe in contraception but natural family planning, Timing, temping, OPK etc etc..
But since I'm breastfeeding, waking up god knows how many times in the night natural family planning just isn't possible. I have no idea with AF will be back.
So in a situation like this.. What do I do?
Pull out and pray?
Of course having another child would be a true blessing since we fought so hard to Vinnie but.. I'd much rather wait at least 3-4 years before the next one.

Re: Contraception
Hmm difficult I have the implant so no worries for me.
Your periods may not return until you stop breast feeding anyway or atleast until ŷou wean him, if you don't believe in contraception I guess you just have to not have sex around your fertile window, I'm guessing after trying that you know what your fertile signs are?

Re: Contraception
If you don't want to use contraception then I'm not sure there is much you can do except hope. Breastfeeding can act as a natural contraceptive. I didn't get af back until my lo was 7 months but my Mum did get pregnant while breastfeeding.

Re: Contraception
I'm on pill and in 9 months time I'm off to ask for sterilisation, so I'm not planning anymore.
But I took 3yrs to conceive my 2nd with a bit of medical assistance and now there is 54 wks between my 2nd and 3rd, with no help you are most fertile of course after having a baby and bf doesn't always work
If it was me I'd abstain just to be sure, but I've got 3 so very happy after 2nd we knew we wanted more so didn't use anything and was blessed

Re: Contraception
I used microgynon 30 after having Imogen and Andrew then miscarried on it then after Jayden I went on the implant, and it caused me shit, depressed, low, couldn't give a feck about anything and always snapping, took it out in March 2012 and now I feel much better and using the old family planning method! Because I went on the pill for a few weeks after the implant and still caused me grief however now not on anything and feel way better
but everyones different
