Is it Wrong?

That i want so much more for me and my kids?

Before the girls dad i had a bought house, a car and a good job. Since we met i lost everything and now i'm stuck in a council house on benefits.
He disapproves of me wanting more and says i should be happy with what i have.

I want to get back to work and buy a house and have a good life with them. I also want to be able to leave them something if i die like the house and a little bit of savings. I want to be secure and be able to afford to give them everything they need plus a little extra.

Why do people criticise me for this? I thought it's what every parent wants for their children?

Maybe i just have really high standards and expectations of life???????????????

No of course not! It's good to have aspirations and to want to achieve things even if you have had them before.
Do you think you could go and get a job? Or would you have to wait till the girls were at school?

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting more than you have in life. It doesn't mean you're not grateful for what you do have

A lot of people get annoyed and say i'm not grateful Liberty.

Kell i'm looking for a job and there is a few i want to apply for but it would mean moving to the other side of the country and i'd be nearer him too

I could afford to work and put the girls in nursery as the wage is £25k+

That really sounds like it was his fault you lost the flat.... You still drive and there is nothing stopping you from going out and getting a job . If it means relocating for the best wage then that's what you will have to do unless you are happy to take a smaller wage and be topped up with tax credits ... Nobody can decide for you and listening to people say you are wrong, can I just say who the fuck do you speak to cos they sound thick as shit .... If it's what you really want then put your words into action and do it!!!! Life is short .

You know what my familys like Rachel. They constantly tell me everything i do isn't good enough etc.....

There's a few jobs i'm gonna apply for that's just came on the market so we'll see x

I was a single mom from conception and hated living in council house and on benefits, but I used it as a positive I went back to college, got into uni and got a degree and a masters and now have a career. I met my hubby in my last yr of masters.

If you want something go for it. Being a hard working mom is a good role model for your kids.
If you not happy with your life change it, yes it will be tough, yes there will be opposition but the only person who as a right to have a go at you is yourself.

Our dream is for me to have a job that its around kids and our own house and our plan that these will both be in place in 5 yrs

I agree ignore him, you know what's best for you and your children not him and if that's what you want go for it

thing is though he'd need to help with picking up from nursery etc as i'd be travelling cross country for work if i get the job that i want so had to kinda involve him x

By all means involve him just don't listen to him when he's putting you down for wanting a job

i'm not but it bugs me that i'm thought of as less when really i'm so much more and setting a good example for the girls x

Why are you even bothered about these stupid people and their obvious benefits culture??? Surely you should just say up yours and see when I am better off than all of you don't come begging for a loan
