What's your job?

What does (or did before having babies) everyone do for a job? Has it changed since having children, is there a parituclar career path you want to take but need to wait until the children are older?

I will go back to it but, I also have a uni course in sciences to finish as I want to work with primates

wow Rachel there's so many questions I want to ask you now haha... work with primates in a zoo or actually in their natural environment? what kind of work do you want to do with them?

At Edinburgh Zoo ... I have had the dream since I was tiny to work with them . I would love to go to their natural habitat but, the kids are too young for me to just up and go maybe when I am older and they have gotten married lol.. I want to study them.

When I left school I trained as a hairdresser and my dad helped me to open a salon. But I hated it and it bored me silly so retrained as I wanted to a secretary. I then worked at the cps until I had paul. When he started school I went back to college to update my IT skills and was offered an admin job. I'm still at the college now working in as a programme management secretary. I love my job

As a teen I was a waitress in a hotel mostly for functions like weddings Xmas party's etc, then I had tommy I went to college to do business and accounts hnd while working nights at Asda. Then I moved to our local council as an admin assistant which I loved and then I went to run my dads accounts and admin for his business. I was made redundant after I had Charlie and am now aiming to be a midwife within four years!

Right from college I went to work in a hotel with the aim of moving around and up in the business. But I soon landed in a rut and my manager wasn't willing to allow me to moved departments.
So I was stuck cleaning the rooms for 3 years. The hotel is where I met my husband. We both left the country and moved abroad where DH continued his career as an engineer and I became a Teaching Assistant in an international school. I worked at the school for three years before getting pregnant. As of right now I don't know weather I want to go back or not.
My job is open for a max of 3 Years so I may decided to go back when baby goes to nursery.

Kell you don't want a job in Cyprus as an accountant do you? we need one lol

I'm a teacher. I teach secondary school kids History and English. I have done since I left uni

Loads of girls leave to have babies then usually return once the kids are school to start again. Some of my friends were like this and ended up training as teachers etc later on.

I went back to college when rich was 1, did college, degree and masters :-) all as a single mom, best thing I ever did

I'm in Trust and Company administration, I run the Trust side of our business and that basically means I er help people with planning for the future, tax planning, running their businesses, investments, pensions and other financial things. We also do wills and life insurance.

I've been doing it since I left college at 18, it wasn't what I intended to do, i intended to be at my job for 12 to 18 months and save up enough to go travelling the world with my best friend but the pair of us got used to having money and spending it and so never saved up and well here I am!

Once the kids are at school you may want to go back to it or try something new. There are loads of courses and funding available for mature students

I started out as a waitress in a coffee shop at 15, then went to work at Boots as a sales and operations assistant when 16, I worked Saturdays and college hols. Worked in a pub during uni hols. After uni I temped in offices for about 9 months until going travelling in Australia. Then went to work in local government on my return, working and studying my way up to a planning policy officer. I left 18 months ago to concentrate on family life... Now I am a sales assistant at Fat Face for 8 hours a week. Full circle! I am also training to be a childminder as a back up for my friend. And I do a bit of sewing on the side. Um I'm not very good at sticking at something am I?!

As for the future I don't know...

I used to work in a night club when I was at college and that was my favourite job!
