Preschool take two
After Immi's bad first day at preschool last thurs (she basically cried the whole morning and i had to pick her up early) we tried again this morning. They said i should come in and sit with her for a bit then when she's settled leave so i had a friend look after Joshua and I went in. Tbh i don't think it helped much as she just cried cause she knew i would eventually leave. In the end i just had to walk out, she was screaming and crying but nothing was going to stop her. That was 9.40 so lady said she'd ring before 11 and aim to pick her up then if she wasn't settling. Got a call at 10.30 and Imogen was fine so they said don't come early just pick her up normal time (12.50pm), although they were worried she might freak out at little at lunch as routine change. Lunch has been on for 20mins and no phone call yet so i'm hoping she has settled fine for lunch.
It's horrible leaving her when screaming but think it needed to be done and i'm so happy she calmed down. I really hope she'll grow to love it and won't cry at all when i drop her off

Glad she was ok. I think you do have to just leave them. Its horrible but they always settle down when they get in. I know someone who gives her kid the option to come home when they get there. All that's going to happen is that its going to be tougher for them when they go to school

Glad she enjoyed it. I've got to make another attempt at Stephen going to nursery soon after I had to take him out of the last one as he was so upset and wouldn't settle Now she knows it's fun she'll be fine xx

I think its hard when u first leave them - especially if theyre not really used to being apart from you. Im so glad i put alfie in from 9 months old when he wasnt really old enough to understand that i was leaving him. im sure once she realises that mammy is going to come back evenutally and not leave u forever she will be fine x
