potty training
hi, just want a bit of help and reasurrance i guess, my youngest is just about to turn 2, and for the last few weeks she has been using the potty and the toilet, sometimes she takes her nappy off to use the potty, but she also is weeing in her nappy, taking the nappy off, sitting on the potty and getting really upset saying 'cant wee mummy'.
i suppose i am just worried that she will damage herself trying to force wee out
she is as happy in a nappy as she is running around in knickers so not trying to force her, just following her lead. we have only tried taking her out n knickers once and she wet them after insisting that she didnt want a wee *sigh* so atm, we are just letting her do what she wants at home.
sorry for rambling post

Re: potty training
We're not at that point yet with Jamie but I'd say you're doing the right thing by letting her take the lead. I would just keep telling her its ok when she can't wee

aww, hun, sounds like you are doing fine, just keep going by her lead. As she gets bettere at knowing she needs a wee this phase will pass. Pretty sure she wont come to harm trying to wee when she has done one already. Sophia did this a bit when we tried with her (but before she truly was ready) she would have a bit of an accident on route to the potty and try to go but nothing would come. But once she truly was ready she was able to tell me she needed a wee and then use the potty.
It will come in time, no worries, and she is still young so well done her!

Re: potty training
I feel your worry, Andrew has been potty training since he was 2.5 years and now just after third birthday still hasn't grasped it however he was the one who took the lead at 2.5 saying he wanted knickers and refused to wear nappies....so i don't know

Re: potty training
Sounds like she is doing great hun, its only the last couple of weeks i have been taking noah out with a nappy his prob had 2 accidents. I take the potty in the car with me, so when he tells me he needs a wee i just pull up and sit him on it. You have just got to persist and don't make to much of a fuss when she has an accident. I have also found that taking noah out in pants now, is helping him to hold his wee in for longer. I find there are so many steps to potty training . Good luck hun
