Would you think reasonable to charge for a home made character cake (ITNG) for i guess about 16 people?

From making Sophia's, i reckon about 2 hours to make cake and a further six for decorating and finishing touches.

Not me making this time, it's Sophia's gramps, for my friends little girl. So, i want to make sure he gets a reasonable amount, but without fleecing my friend! Any input gratefully recieved. I was thinking £50 but is that reasonable?

Here in Poland, We have just ordered Vinnies christening cake for 30 people.
We pay by the KG of cake. We paid 70PLN around 15 pounds per KG.. We order 3.5KG. The decorations on top were another 50PLN - 10 pounds. Not to sure if that helps at all.
I would then add a bit more because your in the UK and everything is so expensive there.

I'm not sure Mandy. For Immy's christening we had a cake for about 20 and I think only paid about £25. That was 4 years ago though. Have you worked out how much the ingredients alone would come to? x

No idea Mandy. I think you need to pm ilovecake/Mandy as she has her own business or just have a look on fb at cake people on there Smile

Hiya. It depends how good he is and how much detail he is planning on putting on. for a simple cake I'd charge around £40 and anything up to £70 depending on how elaborate it is x

Cool thanks guys. Thanks Mandy, thats a good guide, he is not too shabby! Done a fair few for others here and in spain. So I reckon 40-50 is probs reasonable.

Depends on how good the cake looks and tastes there is a cake shop here and they charge by size and per decoration so anything from £20 to £90 ... Check these sites they make novelty cakes and charge a fair whack [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
