I recently went on a course aimed specifically at carrying out first aid and saving the lives of children and babies. I'd been looking specifically for a course like this for ages, even contacting St Johns Ambulance who told me that they didn't do anything like this.

I thought it was brilliant, and I'll happily post a link on here (if the Mods will let me?) for anyone else that's interested. The lady that does it currently works in Cheshire/Manchester, but I know she's looking to expand and offer country-wide franchises.

I definitely feel more confident now in my own ability to help should anything happen to my boys. (Hopefully all they'll ever need is a sticking-plaster though!)

ok, thanks!

This is it:

The lady that did the course was lovely and I met some lovely people on the course. I think it cost about £31 (I'm sure the price is on the website somewhere) but she also does home visits if you can get enough friends around your house to cover the cost. Like I said, for peace of mind, I thought it was well worth it.

I did a short course that was free and offered to me by my Hv. It was great and was really pleased I'd done it. Definitely worth doing xx

I wish they did something like that over here... actually they probably do but i've just never looked into it. I'm lucky in that the dr is a couple of minutes (like 2!) up the road from me but I really worry about the kids choking and me not knowing what to do!
